There have been many reports on the recovery of the aviation industry post COVID. They have all followed the same lines and all reiterate the expected pilot gap once we are through COVID.

Pilot training needs to be happening now to ensure we have sufficient pilots with enough flying hours and the skills required to fly commercially. During COVID a lot of over 50’s pilots have taken the opportunity to settle and go into early retirement.  This could leave a gap in highly skilled and qualified commercial pilots for small businesses through to large commercial airlines.
